Great Dane SCADPro – Freedom XP Trailer Redesign
As a Co-Project Manager alongside Charles Parson, I led a multidisciplinary team in collaboration with Great Dane LLC to reimagine the Freedom XP flatbed trailer. Our goal was to enhance its design through user research, wireframing, prototyping, and engineering refinement. I managed project timelines, coordinated tasks, and ensured alignment with Great Dane’s objectives. This experience transitioned into a summer internship, where I continued refining designs and contributing to engineering projects.

In 10 weeks, our team conducted thorough research, developed personas, analyzed competitors, defined Great Dane's objectives, validated pain points, generated innovative concepts within constraints, screened for potential, refined and prototyped leading ideas, ultimately delivering a high-fidelity prototype for the next-generation Great Dane trailer.

Over 10 weeks, our team of 19 SCAD students transformed hundreds of sketches into a refined design. Collaborative checkpoints with Great Dane guided our journey, as we worked tirelessly toward a unified vision, turning individual creativity into collective success.

For the final concept the Freedom XP 3 has been the chosen flatbed trailer, incorporating client feedback and necessary corrections, excels in robust design, manufacturing ease, and practical features. Enhancements like J-hook storage, an integrated toolbox, and a reinforced rear crossmember make the Freedom XP 3 durable and reliable, meeting both practical and aesthetic expectations for successful implementation.
We also envision three Future flatbed trailer models, combining robustness, efficiency, and user-centric principles to represent the future of flatbed trailers.

The Harlequin concept represents a fusion of aerodynamic principles, minimalist design, and lightweight construction, resulting in a sleek, efficient, and high-performance product. Its streamlined form minimizes drag, enhancing fuel efficiency and speed. Advanced materials and engineering ensure durability and resilience, making the Harlequin both innovative and reliable.

The Fawn concept represents a fusion of rugged design, bold aesthetics, and practical accessibility, resulting in a robust, muscular, and durable product. Its prominent styling elements convey a confident, assertive presence, while user-friendly features such as strategically placed steps and ergonomic load-handling solutions ensure practicality across various terrains.

The Mantle concept represents a fusion of strength, dependability, and dynamism, resulting in a reliable, low-maintenance, and high-performance product. Its simplicity and functional form prioritize reliability, while sculpted surfaces and purposeful lines convey motion and agility.
