This senior Capstone course gives final year students the opportunity to showcase the plethora of skills that they have learned over the past 3 years, especially in user experience design and overall product design. With the popularization of AI technology in the world, this class prompts its students to solve a problem which would bring immense social change with the implementation of AI technology into the problem space.

our solution
Akyn is a product ecosystem which consists of an app and AR Glasses. It leverages the power of Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality and storytelling to visualize perspectives in new, powerful ways. No longer do parents and teens need to solely rely on repeating what they’ve always believed hoping their loved one will understand. Now, they can allow technology to create interactive experiences that showcases their points of view to their loved one.

At this point in our project we had synthesized our data and had insights pointing to the specific space our product should sit. We began to ideate on the specifics of the product and overall concepts which we took to be reviewed by our potential target audience. This led to numerous rounds of iterations and diving even deeper into our insights to ensure that our solution was well scoped and pointed enough to solve a real problem for both parents and teens.

We believe that this product can have immense social impact on individuals and of course society at large. Beyond the most overt impact of parents and teens being able to understand each other, resulting in more empathy in these familial relationships, studies also show that better family relationships can lead to improved mental health, longer life expectancy and even lower crime rates.

Parents and teens can use the app to explain their perspectives and let AI visualize these points of view by creating videos with characters which are best suited to communicate the point of view.

Akyn also ensures that any narration which complements the visualization is decoded in a way that the receiving party (parent or teen) will understand. It decodes slangs, translates languages and even relates perspectives to past experiences of the recipient.
